These individuals are confident and highly motivated self driving individuals that collaborate in order to grow the association and preserve the dignity of the profession. There needs to be a strong separation between ones personal company and the association. Directors should not be seen as acting in their own interests, but rather acting in the best interests of the industry as a whole
LEEASA directors need to have a strong technical ability, as well as a great mind for business development and entrepreneurship. LEEASA directors are not remunerated and participate in the association out of love for the industry.
LEEASA directors are required to give up time in their work day to actively participate in LEEASA initiatives, which includes but is not limited to seminars, technical content development, SABS and The Department of Employment and Labour collaborations, events and much more.
Over the years the roles of a LEEASA director has changed a lot. This shift has shifted from purely being a technical aspect of the association, however the need to grow and generate further revenue to give back to our members.
This has included the development of new measurement instruments, The LEEASA Inspection App and development of further membership tiers within the association.
